Plans for the ongoing development of the Foundry Lane site continue with the overdue development of a day- time café/bistro to complement Dundee’s leading independent nightclub - The eponymous Reading Rooms. And thereafter development options for Unit 1 Foundry Lane are to be assessed.
There has seen an investment upsurge within the immediate vicinity; A major Hotel/Apart Hotel and Housing Development are now under construction and a 175 Dwelling Housing Development is awaiting a start date all within 100M. Prior to this Marks & Spencer opened a new store in adjacent the Gallagher Retail Park, adjacent to this a new Dundee Leisure Centre opened mid 2013. So the development potential for the area is therefore extremely positive in the medium to longer term with more Housing and Leisure Developments planned.
